Costeño Cheese 500 g

Costeño cheese is the salty cheese from the Colombian Caribbean coast. Firm, white, and notably salty, it does not melt: it is grated, crumbled, or fried.

It is the kind that goes on top of an egg arepa, inside a bollo, and grated over a patacón. It also works in a Venezuelan cachapa, where the saltiness of the cheese balances the sweetness of the fresh corn.

How to use:

• Grated over arepas, patacones, and soups

• Inside a cachapa, folded and hot

• Fried in thick slices

• Crumbled in salads and on rice

• With guava paste
