Description
The Colombian buñuelo is a fried cheese dough ball, crispy on the outside and spongy on the inside. It is the inseparable companion of natilla at Christmas, but in Colombia, it is eaten all year round with morning coffee.
Getting it right at home is difficult: if the dough is not balanced, the buñuelo opens up in the oil or remains raw inside. This mix is what Colombian bakeries use and already has that proportion resolved.
Preparation: one kilo of mix, one kilo of ground costeño cheese, and about 750 ml of water. Knead until it no longer sticks to your hands, form balls, and fry in oil over medium heat, moving them so they turn on their own.
Content: 1 kg · Origin: Colombia
Ingredients: corn starch, cassava starch, sugar, dextrose, salt, sodium bicarbonate.
Buñuelos are Colombian fried cheese balls: crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Indispensable at Christmas alongside natilla, but eaten all year round in Colombia with morning coffee.
It's difficult to get the right ratio at home. This mix is also used by Colombian bakeries and has already solved that for you.
Preparation: 1 kg mix, 1 kg grated fresh cheese and about 750 ml water. Knead, form into balls and fry over medium heat.
